Shadow Jumpers provides meaningful experiences and a sense of community to individuals and families living with photosensitive conditions.  A first of its kind nonprofit, everyone associated with Shadow Jumpers has to have a photosensitive condition or be personally related to one.

Since 2018, Shadow Jumpers has assisted families all across North America with sun proof vacations, home renovations, medical bill relief , acquiring protective clothing , transportation requests and so much more.

In 2024, Shadow Jumpers introduced SUN ESCAPE, an annual transformative camp weekend specifically designed for photosensitive families. Every detail of this experience is thoughtfully sun-proofed, either indoors or scheduled for the late evening. Activities include archery, horseback riding, zip lining, and access to a water park. Completely free for all attendees, Sun Escape emphasizes eliminating sun exposure, allowing families to concentrate on enjoying their time together.

If you or a family you know are looking for assistance in combating unique circumstances with the sun, do not wait!

Shadow Jumpers would love to discuss how we may be able to improve your situation.

A camp weekend designed specifically with photosensitive families in mind

Shadow Jumpers and the United Porphyrias Association have teamed up (again) for a transformative weekend at Victory Junction for Photo Sensitive children (ages 6-16) in North America. Sun Escape is a 4 Day 3 Night camp experience that creates a community of fun, imagination, creativity and a positive perspective towards our campers’ unique circumstances with the sun.

All of our camp activities are purposely indoors or set purposefully in the late evening. Those activities include archery, horseback riding, zip lining, fishing, bowling, an indoor super dome, a petting zoo, arts & crafts and, in 2025, a water park.

From coverings on exposed windows and providing every child with a UV umbrella to providing transportation around the Camp Grounds and even noting all the indoor lighting, Sun Escape wastes no resource to make sure we take all the sun out of the weekend’s fun.

Here the sun wont find you….but hopefully adventure will!

Now accepting Camp Family and Volunteer applications through December 3rd.

More people are being properly diagnosed with a photosensitive condition each year.

Now is the time to make sure they don't feel alone taking on these one in a million circumstances.
