New details for Sun Escape 2025 dropping on Thursday September 26th at Noon Eastern.
Shadow Jumpers and the United Porphyrias Association have teamed up (again) for a transformative weekend at Victory Junction for Photo Sensitive children (ages 6-16) in North America. Sun Escape is a 4 Day 3 Night camp experience that creates a community of fun, imagination, creativity and a positive perspective towards our campers’ unique circumstances with the sun
All of our camp activities are purposely indoors or set purposefully in the late evening. Those activities include archery, horseback riding, zip lining, fishing, bowling, an indoor super dome, a petting zoo, arts & crafts and, in 2025, a water park.

We are taking every precaution to remove the sun from your weekend fun. Here are some of the ways we are modifying and adapting.
Thick protective cloth are hung over windows near all facility entrances and windows that MAY LET IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT DURING CAMP HOURS.
Note: the protective covering material is made out of polyester 100% black out greige drapes
Families have access to mini buses to assist getting from cabin row and certain facilities during peak SUNNY hours.
Note: most of the walking will be under covered structures or with very minimal exposure that should be okay for the majority of our families
Every photo sensitive camper and Volunteer will receive their own high end UPF umbrella for the duration of camp that they can take with them.
We mark every light used in the Victory Junction Facilities and Cabins (including wattage). In most cases, lighting can be turned off.
